# §577g. Payment for additional lands acquired in northern Minnesota


The [Secretary](/usc/16/580p.md?p=3) of the Treasury, upon the certification of the [Secretary](/usc/16/580p.md?p=3) of Agriculture, shall pay to the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Minnesota, at the close of each fiscal year from any national-forest receipts not otherwise appropriated a sum of money equivalent to three-quarters of 1 per centum of the fair appraised value of such national-[forest lands](/usc/16/544.md?p=f) as may be situated within the [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) described in [section 577d of this title](/usc/16/577d.md) at the end of each fiscal year; and the payments made hereunder shall be distributed to each of the three aforesaid [counties](/usc/16/544.md?p=d) in conformity with the fair appraised value of such national-[forest lands](/usc/16/544.md?p=f) in each county: Provided, That the fair appraised value of the lands shall be determined by the [Secretary](/usc/16/580p.md?p=3) of Agriculture at ten-year intervals and his determination shall be conclusive and final: Provided further, That the first payment to the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Minnesota under the provisions of this section shall not be due until the close of the first full fiscal year after June 22, 1948: And provided further, That the provisions of [section 500 of this title](/usc/16/500.md), shall not be applicable to the national-[forest lands](/usc/16/544.md?p=f) to which this section applies.
