# §482d. Perfection of claims within forest


Valid mining claims within the Mount Hood National Forest in the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Oregon existing on May 11, 1934, and thereafter maintained in compliance with the law under which they were initiated and the laws of the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Oregon, may be perfected under sections [482b](/usc/16/482b.md) and [482c](/usc/16/482c.md) of this title, or under the law under which they were initiated, as the claimant may desire.
