# §47a. Addition of certain lands to park authorized


For the purpose of preserving and consolidating timber stands along the western boundary of the Yosemite National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) the President of the United States is authorized, upon the joint recommendation of the [Secretaries](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of Interior and Agriculture, to add to the Yosemite National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3), in the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of California, by Executive proclamation, [section 1](/usc/16/1.md) and the north half of [section 12](/usc/16/12.md), township 1 south, range 19 east, Mount Diablo meridian.
