# §460x–15. Lakeshore wilderness report; administration


In accordance with [section 1132(c) of this title](/usc/16/1132.md?p=c), the President shall, no later than June 1, 1983, advise the United States Senate and House of Representatives of his recommendations with respect to the suitability or nonsuitability as [wilderness](/usc/16/3102.md?p=13) of any [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) within the lakeshore. Subject to existing private rights, the [areas](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) described in the report prepared by the National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) Service entitled “[Wilderness](/usc/16/3102.md?p=13) Recommendation; Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore” dated January, 1981, and recommended for [wilderness](/usc/16/3102.md?p=13) (approximately 7,128 acres) and for potential [wilderness](/usc/16/3102.md?p=13) [additions](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-2) (approximately 23,775 acres) shall, until Congress determines otherwise, be administered by the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) so as to maintain their presently existing [wilderness](/usc/16/3102.md?p=13) character and potential for inclusion in the [National Wilderness Preservation System](/usc/16/3102.md?p=13).
