# §460q–2. Establishment of units; publication in Federal Register; boundary descriptions

- (a) **Shasta; Clair Engle-Lewiston—** When the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of Agriculture determines that sufficient lands, waters, or interest therein are owned or have been acquired by the United States within the boundaries of the Shasta [unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4) or within the boundaries of the Clair Engle-Lewiston [unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4) to permit efficient initial development and administration for the purposes of this subchapter, he shall publish in the Federal Register a notice to that effect and a detailed description of the boundaries of such [unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4).
- (b) **Whiskeytown—** When the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior determines that sufficient lands, waters, or interest therein are owned or have been acquired by the United States within the boundaries of the Whiskeytown [unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4) to permit efficient initial development and administration for the purposes of this subchapter, he shall publish in the Federal Register a notice to that effect and a detailed description of the boundaries of the [unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4).
- (c) **Acquisition of property—** Following the publication of any such notice, the respective [Secretaries](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may continue to [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) the remaining property within the recreation [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A).
