# §460nnn–11. Designation of Steens Mountain Cooperative Management and Protection Area

- (a) **Designation—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/460iii–1.md?p=1) shall designate the Steens Mountain [Cooperative Management and Protection Area](/usc/16/460nnn.md?p=3) consisting of approximately 425,550 acres of [Federal land](/usc/16/3102.md?p=2) located in Harney County, Oregon, in the vicinity of Steens Mountain, as generally depicted on the [map](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=1) entitled “Steens Mountain Boundary [Map](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=1)” and dated September 18, 2000.
- (b) **Contents of map—** In [addition](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-2) to the general boundaries of the [Cooperative Management and Protection Area](/usc/16/460nnn.md?p=3), the [map](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=1) referred to in [subsection (a)](#a) also depicts the general boundaries of the following:
  - (1) The no livestock grazing [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) described in [section 460nnn–23(e) of this title](/usc/16/460nnn–23.md?p=e).
  - (2) The mineral withdrawal [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) designated by part D.
  - (3) The wildlands juniper management [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) established by part E.
