# §460lll–21. Land and resource management plan

- (a) **In general—** As soon as practicable after the effective date of the transfer of jurisdiction under [section 460lll–41](/usc/16/460lll–41.md) of this title, the [Secretary](/usc/16/460iii–1.md?p=1) shall prepare a land and resource [management plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k) for the [Recreation Area](/usc/16/460lll.md?p=12) in conformity with the National Forest Management Act of 1976 ([16 U.S.C. 472a](/usc/16/472a.md) et seq.) and other applicable law.
- (b) **Interim provision—** Until adoption of the land and resource [management plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k), the [Secretary](/usc/16/460iii–1.md?p=1) may use, as appropriate, the existing Tennessee Valley Authority Natural Resource [Management Plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k) to provide interim management direction. Use of all or a portion of the [management plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k) by the [Secretary](/usc/16/460iii–1.md?p=1) shall not be considered to be a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.
