# §450ll–1. Establishment and supervision


The real property acquired under [section 450ll](/usc/16/450ll.md) of this title shall constitute the Booker T. Washington National Monument and shall be a public national [memorial](/usc/16/450ss–1.md?p=2) to Booker T. Washington, noted Negro educator and apostle of good will. The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior shall have the supervision, management, and control of such national monument, and shall maintain and [preserve](/usc/16/698u–1.md?p=2) it in a suitable and enduring manner which, in his judgment, will provide for the benefit and enjoyment of the people of the United States.
