# §441f. Adjustment and redefinition of boundaries


In order to establish a more appropriate boundary for the Badlands National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) and to consolidate [Federal land](/usc/16/3102.md?p=2) ownership therein, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior, in his discretion, is authorized to adjust and redefine the exterior boundaries of the national [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) by appropriate reductions or [additions](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-2) of land: Provided, That the total acreage of the national [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3), as revised pursuant to sections 441f to [441i](/usc/16/441i.md) of this title, shall not exceed its [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) of approximately one hundred fifty-four thousand one hundred and nineteen acres as of May 7, 1952.
