# §430h–14. Vicksburg National Military Park

- (a) **Acquisition of land—**
  - (1) **In general—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior (referred to in this section as the “[Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1)”) may [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) the land or any interests in land within the [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) identified as “Modified Core Battlefield” for the Port Gibson [Unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4), the Champion Hill [Unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4), and the Raymond [Unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4) as generally depicted on the [map](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=1) entitled “Vicksburg National Military [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3)—Proposed Battlefield [Additions](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-2)”, numbered 306/100986A (4 sheets), and dated July 2012.
  - (2) **Methods of acquisition—** Land may be acquired under [paragraph (1)](#a-1) by donation, purchase with donated or appropriated funds, or exchange, except that land owned by the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Mississippi or any political [subdivisions](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=15) of the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) may be acquired only by donation.
- (b) **Availability of map—** The [map](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=1) described in [subsection (a)(1)](#a-1) shall be on file and available for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) Service.
- (c) **Boundary adjustment—** On the [acquisition](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) of land by the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) under this section—
  - (1) the acquired land shall be added to Vicksburg National Military [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3);
  - (2) the boundary of the Vicksburg National Military [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) shall be adjusted to reflect the [acquisition](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) of the land; and
  - (3) the acquired land shall be administered as part of the Vicksburg National Military [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) in accordance with applicable laws (including regulations).
