# §430f–9. Land acquisition

- (a) **In general—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) land and interests in land within the boundary of the [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) described in [section 430f–8(b) of this title](/usc/16/430f–8.md?p=b), by—
  - (1) donation;
  - (2) purchase with donated or appropriated funds; or
  - (3) exchange.
- (b) **Exception—** Land may be acquired only by donation from—
  - (1) the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Mississippi (including a political [subdivision](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=15) of the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a));
  - (2) the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Tennessee (including a political [subdivision](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=15) of the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a)); or
  - (3) the organization known as “Friends of the Siege and Battle of Corinth”.
