# §410iiii–3. Property acquisition


The [Secretary](/usc/16/410iii–2.md?p=4) is authorized to [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) by donation, exchange, or purchase with donated or appropriated funds the real property described in subsections (b) and (c) of [section 410iiii–2 of this title](/usc/16/410iiii–2.md). Any property owned by the [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) of Kansas or South Carolina or any political [subdivision](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=15) thereof may be acquired only by donation. The [Secretary](/usc/16/410iii–2.md?p=4) may also [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) by the same methods personal property associated with, and appropriate for, the interpretation of the [historical park](/usc/16/410iiii.md?p=2). The [Secretary](/usc/16/410iii–2.md?p=4) may not [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) such personal property without the consent of the [owner](/usc/16/429b–3.md?p=4) or by condemnation of any land or interest in land within the boundaries of the [historical park](/usc/16/410iiii.md?p=2).
