# §410cc–25. Administrative functions

- (a) **Implementation of park management plan; emergency assistance for protection of property owners; availability of funds for Commission—**
  - (1) The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1), acting through the National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) Service, shall [take](/usc/16/3102.md?p=18) appropriate actions to implement to the extent practicable the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) [management plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k) established pursuant to [section 410cc–21(b) of this title](/usc/16/410cc–21.md?p=b). In carrying out such plan, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall administer the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) in accordance with laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the national [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) system. Before the date on which the [Commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c) conducts its first meeting, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may [take](/usc/16/3102.md?p=18) any other action the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) deems necessary to provide [owners](/usc/16/429b–3.md?p=4) of property with national historic or cultural significance within the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) or preservation district with emergency assistance for the purpose of preserving and protecting their property in a manner consistent with the purpose of this subchapter.
  - (2) Subject to sections [410cc–24](/usc/16/410cc–24.md) and [410cc–32(b)](/usc/16/410cc–32.md?p=b) of this title, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall make available to the [Commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c) any funds appropriated under [section 410cc–13(a)(2) of this title](/usc/16/410cc–13.md) for the purpose of carrying out part C of this subchapter.
- (b) **Acceptance of donations of funds, property, or services for implementation of park management plan—** Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may accept donations of funds, property, or services from individuals, [foundations](/usc/16/450ss–1.md?p=1), corporations, and other private entities, and from public entities, for the purpose of implementing the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) [management plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k).
- (c) **Sponsorship or coordination of educational or cultural programs—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may sponsor or coordinate within the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) and preservation district such educational or cultural programs as the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) considers appropriate to encourage appreciation of the resources of the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) and preservation district.
- (d) **Acquisition of leases—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) such leases respecting property within the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this subchapter.
