# §410cc–12. Consultations, cooperation, and conduct of activities by Federal entities; issuance of licenses or permits by Federal entities

- (a) **Activities directly affecting park—** Any Federal entity conducting or supporting activities directly affecting the [park](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=1) or [preservation district](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=2) shall—
  - (1) consult with, cooperate with, and to the maximum extent practicable, coordinate its activities with the [Secretary](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=4) and with the [Commission](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=3); and
  - (2) conduct or support such activities in a manner which (A) to the maximum extent practicable is consistent with the standards and criteria established pursuant to [section 410cc–32(e) of this title](/usc/16/410cc–32.md?p=e), and (B) will not have an adverse effect on the resources of the [park](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=1) or [preservation district](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=2).
- (b) **Determination as to proposed activities—** No Federal entity may issue any license or permit to any [person](/usc/16/450rr–1.md?p=b) to conduct an activity within the [park](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=1) or [preservation district](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=2) unless such entity determines that the proposed activity will be conducted in a manner consistent with the standards and criteria established pursuant to [section 410cc–32(e) of this title](/usc/16/410cc–32.md?p=e) and will not have an adverse effect on the resources of the [park](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=1) or [preservation district](/usc/16/410cc–1.md?p=2).
