# §410aaa–58. Mojave National Preserve Advisory Commission

- (a) **Establishment—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall establish an Advisory [Commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c) of no more than fifteen members, to advise the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) concerning the development and implementation of a new or revised comprehensive [management plan](/usc/16/544.md?p=k) for the Mojave National [Preserve](/usc/16/698u–1.md?p=2).
- (b) **Membership—**
  - (1) The advisory [commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c) shall include an elected official for each County within which any part of the [preserve](/usc/16/698u–1.md?p=2) is located, a representative of the [owners](/usc/16/429b–3.md?p=4) of private properties located within or immediately adjacent to the [preserve](/usc/16/698u–1.md?p=2), and other members representing [persons](/usc/16/450rr–1.md?p=b) actively engaged in grazing and range management, mineral exploration and development, and [persons](/usc/16/450rr–1.md?p=b) with expertise in relevant fields, including geology, biology, ecology, law enforcement, and the protection and management of National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) resources and values.
  - (2) Vacancies in the advisory [commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c) shall be filled by the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) so as to maintain the full diversity of views required to be represented on the advisory [commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c).
- (c) **Applicability of chapter 10 of title 5—** [Chapter 10](/usc/5/chptI/ch10.md) of title 5 shall apply to the procedures and activities of the advisory [commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c).
- (d) **Termination—** The advisory [commission](/usc/16/544.md?p=c) shall cease to exist ten years after the date of its establishment.
