# §346b. Consolidation of Zion National Park and Zion National Monument


For the purpose of combining Zion National [Park](/usc/16/284j.md?p=2) and Zion National Monument, Utah, in a single National [park](/usc/16/284j.md?p=2) [unit](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4), in the interest of efficient administration and to [preserve](/usc/16/698u–1.md?p=2) adequately the features thereof, Zion National [Park](/usc/16/284j.md?p=2) on and after July 11, 1956, shall comprise the present [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) of the National [Park](/usc/16/284j.md?p=2) and the present [area](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) of the Zion National Monument: Provided, That the enactment of sections 346b to [346d](/usc/16/346d.md) of this title shall not affect adversely any valid rights or privileges heretofore existing within the [areas](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) hereby established as the Zion National [Park](/usc/16/284j.md?p=2).
