# §3459. Supplemental authority of the Secretary


The authority of the [Secretary](/usc/16/3451.md?p=11) under this subchapter to assist [councils](/usc/16/3451.md?p=3) in the development and implementation of [area plans](/usc/16/3451.md?p=1) shall be supplemental to, and not in lieu of, any authority of the [Secretary](/usc/16/3451.md?p=11) under any other provision of law.
