# §3231. Areas subject to national need recommendation process


The process contained in this subchapter shall apply to all [public lands](/usc/16/620e.md?p=7) within Alaska except for lands within [units](/usc/16/430f–7.md?p=4) of the National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) System and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
