# §165. Value of lands sought to be exchanged


For purposes of [subdivision](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=15) (2) of [section 164 of this title](/usc/16/164.md) the value of all patented lands within said [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3), including the timber thereon, offered for exchange, and the value of other lands of the United States elsewhere situate, to be given in exchange therefor, shall be ascertained in such manner as the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior may direct; and the [owners](/usc/16/429b–3.md?p=4) of such privately owned lands within said [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) shall, before any exchange is effective, furnish the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior evidence satisfactory to him of title to the patented lands offered in exchange; and lands conveyed to the Government under this section and [subdivision](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=15) (2) of [section 164 of this title](/usc/16/164.md) shall be and remain a part of the Glacier National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3).
