# §157a. Additional lands; aggregate cost


The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of the Interior is authorized to [acquire](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1), in such manner as he shall consider to be in the public interest, any land or interests in land situated within sections [15](/usc/16/15.md), [22](/usc/16/22.md), 27, [34](/usc/16/34.md), block 234, Brewster County, Texas, which he shall consider to be suitable for [addition](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-2) to the Big Bend National [Park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3): Provided, however, That the aggregate cost to the Federal Government of properties acquired hereafter and under the provisions hereof shall not exceed the sum of $10,000. Properties acquired pursuant to this section shall become a part of the [park](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-3) upon [acquisition](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) of title thereto by the United States.
