# §1544. Annual cost analysis by Fish and Wildlife Service


Notwithstanding section 3003 of Public Law 104–66 ([31 U.S.C. 1113](/usc/31/1113.md) note; 109 Stat. 734), on or before January 15, 1990, and each January 15 thereafter, the [Secretary](/usc/16/1532.md?p=15) of the Interior, acting through the [Fish and Wildlife](/usc/16/3102.md?p=17) Service, shall submit to the Congress an annual report covering the preceding fiscal year which shall contain—

- (1) an accounting on a [species](/usc/16/1532.md?p=16) by [species](/usc/16/1532.md?p=16) basis of all reasonably identifiable Federal expenditures made primarily for the [conservation](/usc/16/1532.md?p=3) of endangered or [threatened species](/usc/16/1532.md?p=20) pursuant to this chapter; and
- (2) an accounting on a [species](/usc/16/1532.md?p=16) by [species](/usc/16/1532.md?p=16) basis of all reasonably identifiable expenditures made primarily for the [conservation](/usc/16/1532.md?p=3) of endangered or [threatened species](/usc/16/1532.md?p=20) pursuant to this chapter by [States](/usc/16/544.md?p=r) receiving grants under [section 1535 of this title](/usc/16/1535.md).
