# §1220b. Obsolete ships available; number; equitable administration


A [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) may apply for more than one obsolete ship under this chapter. The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall, however, [taking](/usc/16/3102.md?p=18) into account the number of obsolete ships which may be or become available for transfer under this chapter, administer this chapter in an equitable manner with respect to the various [States](/usc/16/544.md?p=r).
