# §9022. Flexibility in paying reimbursement


The [Secretary](/usc/15/9041.md?p=9) of Labor may issue clarifying guidance to allow [States](/usc/15/9041.md?p=10) to interpret their [State](/usc/15/9041.md?p=10) unemployment compensation laws in a manner that would provide maximum flexibility to reimbursing [employers](/usc/15/9131.md?p=4) as it relates to timely payment and assessment of penalties and interest pursuant to such [State](/usc/15/9041.md?p=10) laws.
