# §6904. Qualified organizations


For purposes of eligibility for assistance under this chapter, a qualified organization shall be—

- (1) a nonprofit [microenterprise development organization or program](/usc/15/6901.md?p=11) (or a group or [collaborative](/usc/15/6901.md?p=4) thereof) that has a demonstrated record of delivering [microenterprise](/usc/15/6901.md?p=10) services to [disadvantaged entrepreneurs](/usc/15/6901.md?p=5);
- (2) an [intermediary](/usc/15/6901.md?p=7);
- (3) a [microenterprise development organization or program](/usc/15/6901.md?p=11) that is accountable to a local community, working in conjunction with a [State](/usc/15/15g.md?p=2) or [local government](/usc/15/34.md?p=1) or [Indian tribe](/usc/15/6901.md?p=6); or
- (4) an [Indian tribe](/usc/15/6901.md?p=6) acting on its own, if the [Indian tribe](/usc/15/6901.md?p=6) can certify that no private organization or program referred to in this paragraph exists within its jurisdiction.
