# §6209. Preservation of existing authority

- (a) **In general—** The authority provided by this chapter is in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other authority vested in the [Attorney General](/usc/15/6211.md?p=3), the [Commission](/usc/15/6211.md?p=4), or any other officer of the United States.
- (b) **Attorney General and Commission—** This chapter shall not be construed to modify or affect the allocation of responsibility between the [Attorney General](/usc/15/6211.md?p=3) and the [Commission](/usc/15/6211.md?p=4) for the enforcement of the [Federal antitrust laws](/usc/15/6211.md?p=5).
