# §4904. Consultation with private sector and government officials


The [Secretary](/usc/15/4901.md?p=6) shall regularly consult with representatives of the private sector and officials of [State](/usc/15/15g.md?p=2) and [local governments](/usc/15/34.md?p=1) to assess the adequacy of United States trade information. The [Secretary](/usc/15/4901.md?p=6) shall seek recommendations on how trade information can be made more accessible, understandable, and relevant. The [Secretary](/usc/15/4901.md?p=6) shall seek recommendations as to what data should be included in the [export promotion data system](/usc/15/4901.md?p=4) in the [Data Bank](/usc/15/4901.md?p=2).
