# §1651. Procedure for timely settlement of estates of decedent obligors


The [Bureau](/usc/15/1602.md?p=b), in consultation with the [Bureau](/usc/15/1602.md?p=b)[^1] and each other agency referred to in [section 1607(a) of this title](/usc/15/1607.md?p=a), shall prescribe regulations to require any [creditor](/usc/15/1602.md?p=g), with respect to any [credit card](/usc/15/1602.md?p=l) [account](/usc/15/1681a.md?p=r-4) under an [open end consumer credit plan](/usc/15/1602.md?p=j), to establish procedures to ensure that any [administrator](/usc/15/636e.md?p=1) of an estate of any deceased obligor with respect to such [account](/usc/15/1681a.md?p=r-4) can resolve outstanding [credit](/usc/15/1602.md?p=f) balances in a timely manner.
