# §303. Secretary of Treasury functions


To assist the [Secretary](/usc/13/1.md?p=2) to carry out the provisions of this chapter, the [Secretary](/usc/13/1.md?p=2) of the Treasury shall collect information in the form and manner prescribed by the regulations issued pursuant to this chapter from persons engaged in foreign commerce or trade and from the owners or operators of carriers.
