# §4548. Regulations for use of credit scores


The [Director](/usc/12/4502.md?p=9) shall—

- (1) by regulation, establish standards and criteria for any process used by an [enterprise](/usc/12/4502.md?p=10) to validate and approve [credit](/usc/12/5481.md?p=7) scoring models pursuant to [section 1717(b)(7) of this title](/usc/12/1717.md?p=b-7) and [section 1454(d) of this title](/usc/12/1454.md?p=d); and
- (2) ensure that any [credit](/usc/12/5481.md?p=7) scoring model that is validated and approved by an [enterprise](/usc/12/4502.md?p=10) under [section 1717(b)(7) of this title](/usc/12/1717.md?p=b-7) or [section 1454(d) of this title](/usc/12/1454.md?p=d) meets the requirements of clauses (i), (ii), and (iii) of [section 1717(b)(7)(C) of this title](/usc/12/1717.md?p=b-7-C) and subparagraphs (A), (B), and (C) of [section 1454(d) of this title](/usc/12/1454.md?p=d), respectively.
