# §4311. Credit unions

- (a) **In general—** No regulation prescribed by the [Bureau](/usc/12/4313.md?p=4) under this chapter shall apply directly with respect to any [depository institution](/usc/12/4313.md?p=6) described in clause (iv) of [section 461(b)(1)(A) of this title](/usc/12/461.md?p=b-1-A).
- (b) **Regulations prescribed by NCUA—** Within 90 days of the effective date of any regulation prescribed by the [Bureau](/usc/12/4313.md?p=4) under this chapter, the National [Credit](/usc/12/5481.md?p=7) Union Administration [Board](/usc/12/1861.md?p=b-3) shall prescribe a regulation substantially similar to the regulation prescribed by the [Bureau](/usc/12/4313.md?p=4) taking into [account](/usc/12/4313.md?p=1) the unique nature of [credit](/usc/12/5481.md?p=7) unions and the limitations under which they may pay dividends on member [accounts](/usc/12/4313.md?p=1).
