# §3346. Establishment of State appraiser certifying and licensing agencies


To assure the availability of [State](/usc/12/1707.md?p=d) certified and licensed appraisers for the performance in a [State](/usc/12/1707.md?p=d) of appraisals in [federally related transactions](/usc/12/3350.md?p=4) and to assure effective supervision of the activities of certified and licensed appraisers, a [State](/usc/12/1707.md?p=d) may establish a [State appraiser certifying and licensing agency](/usc/12/3350.md?p=1). The duties of such agency may additionally include the registration and supervision of [appraisal management companies](/usc/12/3350.md?p=11) and the addition of information about the [appraisal management company](/usc/12/3350.md?p=11) to the national registry.
