# §9839. Settlement of accounts: oaths


The [Secretary](/usc/10/9511.md?p=10) of the Air Force may detail any employee of the [Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) of the Air Force to administer oaths required by law in the settlement of an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1)’s accounts for clothing and other military [supplies](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-14). An oath administered under this section shall be without expense to the [person](/usc/10/9511.md?p=1) to whom it is administered.
