# §8911. Custody of departmental records and property


The [Secretary](/usc/10/8720.md?p=4) of the [Navy](/usc/10/8001.md?p=a-1) has custody and charge of all books, records, papers, furniture, fixtures, and other property under the lawful control of the [executive part of the Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-7) of the [Navy](/usc/10/8001.md?p=a-1).
