# §8012. Department of the Navy: seal


The [Secretary](/usc/10/8720.md?p=4) of the [Navy](/usc/10/8001.md?p=a-1) shall have a seal for the [Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) of the [Navy](/usc/10/8001.md?p=a-1). The design of the seal must be approved by the President. Judicial notice shall be taken of the seal.
