# §649e. Promotions


Sections [620](/usc/10/620.md) through [626](/usc/10/626.md) of this title shall apply in promotions of [officers](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) in competitive categories of [officers](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) designated for purposes of this subchapter.
