# §6107. Establishment of Center for Security Technology, Analysis, Response, and Testing

- (a) **Establishment.—** The [Administrator](/usc/10/6101.md?p=2) for Nuclear Security shall establish within the [nuclear security enterprise](/usc/10/6101.md?p=5) a Center for Security Technology, Analysis, [Response](/usc/10/2700.md?p=2), and Testing.
- (b) **Duties.—** The center established under [subsection (a)](#a) shall carry out the following:
  - (1) Provide to the [Administrator](/usc/10/6101.md?p=2), the Chief of Defense Nuclear Security, and the management and operating contractors of the [nuclear security enterprise](/usc/10/6101.md?p=5) a wide [range](/usc/10/101.md?p=f-1) of objective expertise on security technologies, systems, analysis, testing, and [response](/usc/10/2700.md?p=2) forces.
  - (2) Assist the [Administrator](/usc/10/6101.md?p=2) in developing [standards](/usc/10/3011.md?p=3), requirements, analysis methods, and testing criteria with respect to security.
  - (3) Collect, analyze, and distribute lessons learned with respect to security.
  - (4) Support inspections and oversight activities with respect to security.
  - (5) Promote professional development and [training](/usc/10/301.md?p=9) for security professionals.
  - (6) Provide for advance and bulk [procurement](/usc/10/3011.md?p=1) for security-related acquisitions that affect multiple [facilities](/usc/10/2700.md?p=2) of the [nuclear security enterprise](/usc/10/6101.md?p=5).
  - (7) Advocate for continual improvement and security excellence throughout the [nuclear security enterprise](/usc/10/6101.md?p=5).
  - (8) Such other duties as the [Administrator](/usc/10/6101.md?p=2) may assign.
