# §506. Regular components: extension of enlistments during war


An enlistment in the [Regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) Army, [Regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) Navy, [Regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) Air Force, [Regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) Marine Corps, Space Force, or [Regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) Coast Guard in effect at the beginning of a war, or entered into during a war, unless sooner terminated by the President, continues in effect until six months after the termination of that war.
