# §2877. Differential lease payments


Pursuant to an agreement entered into by the [Secretary concerned](/usc/10/2801.md?p=c-5) and a lessor of [military](/usc/10/801.md?p=8) family housing or [military unaccompanied housing](/usc/10/2871.md?p=11) to members of the [armed forces](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-4), the [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) may [pay](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-15) the lessor an amount in addition to the rental payments for the housing made by the members as the [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) determines appropriate to encourage the lessor to make the housing available to members of the [armed forces](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-4) as [military](/usc/10/801.md?p=8) family housing or as [military unaccompanied housing](/usc/10/2871.md?p=11).
