# §2567. Space and services: provision to WIC offices

- (a) **Allotment of Space and Provision of Services Authorized.—** Upon application by a WIC office, the [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) of a [military](/usc/10/801.md?p=8) [department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) may allot space on a [military installation](/usc/10/2801.md?p=c-4) under the jurisdiction of the [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) to the WIC office without charge for rent or services if the [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) determines that—
  - (1) the WIC office provides or will provide services solely to members of the [armed forces](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-4) assigned to the installation, civilian employees of the [Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) of Defense employed at the installation, or [dependents](/usc/10/1072.md?p=2) of such members or employees;
  - (2) space is available on the installation;
  - (3) operation of the WIC office will not hinder [military](/usc/10/801.md?p=8) mission requirements; and
  - (4) the security situation at the installation permits the presence of a non-Federal entity on the installation.
- (b) **Definitions.—** In this section:
  - (1) The term “services” [includes](/usc/10/101.md?p=g-4) the provision of lighting, heating, cooling, and electricity.
  - (2) The term “WIC office” means a local [agency](/usc/10/3451.md?p=3) (as defined in subsection (b)(6) of section 17 of the [Child](/usc/10/1072.md?p=6) Nutrition Act of 1966 ([42 U.S.C. 1786](/usc/42/1786.md))) that participates in the special supplemental nutrition [program](/usc/10/2101.md?p=1) for women, infants, and children under such section.
