# §2423. Laundry and dry cleaning services: procurement from facilities operated by the Navy Resale and Services Support Office

- (a) **Authority.—** The [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) of Defense may authorize an element of the [Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) of Defense to enter into a contract (through the use of procedures other than competitive procedures) with a laundry and dry cleaning [facility](/usc/10/2700.md?p=2) operated by the Navy Resale and Services Support Office to procure laundry and dry cleaning services for the [armed forces](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-4) outside the [United States](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-1).
- (b) **Application.—** [Subsection (a)](#a) shall apply only with respect to a laundry and dry cleaning [facility](/usc/10/2700.md?p=2) of the Navy Resale and Services Support Office that began operating before October 1, 1989.
