# §20605. Applicability of other provisions of law relating to retirement

- (a) **Applicability to Members of the Space Force.—** Except as specifically provided for by this chapter, the provisions of this title specified in [subsection (b)](#b) apply to members of the Space Force as follows:
  - (1) Provisions pertaining to an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) of the Air Force shall apply to an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) of the Space Force.
  - (2) Provisions pertaining to an [enlisted member](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-6) of the Air Force shall apply to an [enlisted member](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-6) of the Space Force.
  - (3) Provisions pertaining to a [regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) shall apply to an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) who is on [sustained duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-4) in the Space Force.
  - (4) Provisions pertaining to a [regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) [enlisted member](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-6) shall apply to an [enlisted member](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-6) who is on [sustained duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-4) in the Space Force.
  - (5) Provisions pertaining to a [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) shall apply to an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) who is in a [space force active status](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-1) but not on [sustained duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-4).
  - (6) Provisions pertaining to a [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) [enlisted member](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-6) shall apply to an [enlisted member](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-6) who is in a [space force active status](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-1) but not on [sustained duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-4).
  - (7) Provisions pertaining to service in a [regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) component shall apply to service on [sustained duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-4).
  - (8) Provisions pertaining to service in a [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) component shall apply to service in a [space force active status](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-1) not on [sustained duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-4).
  - (9) Provisions pertaining to a member of the Ready [Reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) shall apply to a member of the Space Force who is in a [space force active status](/usc/10/101.md?p=e-1) prior to being ordered to [active duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=d-1).
  - (10) Provisions pertaining to a member of the Retired [Reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) shall apply to a member of the Space Force who has retired under [chapter 1223](/usc/10/chstE/ptII/ch1223.md) of this title.
- (b) **Provisions of Law.—** The provisions of this title referred to in [subsection (a)](#a) are the following:
  - (1) [Chapter 61](/usc/10/chstA/ptII/ch61.md), relating to retirement or separation for physical disability.
  - (2) [Chapter 63](/usc/10/chstA/ptII/ch63.md), relating to retirement for age.
  - (3) [Chapter 69](/usc/10/chstA/ptII/ch69.md), relating to retired [grade](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-7).
  - (4) [Chapter 71](/usc/10/chstA/ptII/ch71.md), relating to computation of retired [pay](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-15).
  - (5) [Chapter 941](/usc/10/chstD/ptII/ch941.md), relating to retirement from the Air Force for length of service.
  - (6) [Chapter 945](/usc/10/chstD/ptII/ch945.md), relating to computation of retired [pay](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-15).
  - (7) [Chapter 1223](/usc/10/chstE/ptII/ch1223.md), relating to retired [pay](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-15) for non-[regular](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-12) service.
  - (8) [Chapter 1225](/usc/10/chstE/ptII/ch1225.md), relating to retired [grade](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-7).
