The board shall meet periodically with staff of the center and the commander of the installation served by the center for the purpose of discussing problems and concerns. The board, together with the staff of the center, shall be responsible for coordinating the parent participation [program](/usc/10/2101.md?p=1) described in [subsection (b)](#b).
- (b) **Parent Participation Programs.—** The [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) of Defense shall require the establishment of a parent participation [program](/usc/10/2101.md?p=1) at each [military child development center](/usc/10/1800.md?p=1). As part of such [program](/usc/10/2101.md?p=1), the [Secretary](/usc/10/4951.md?p=3) of Defense may establish fees for attendance of children at such a center, in the case of parents who participate in the parent participation [program](/usc/10/2101.md?p=1) at that center, at [rates](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-9) lower than the [rates](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-9) that otherwise apply.
