# §1786. Dependent student travel within the United States


Funds available to the [Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) of Defense for the travel and transportation of [dependent](/usc/10/1072.md?p=2) students of members of the [armed forces](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-4) stationed overseas may be obligated for transportation allowances for travel within or between the contiguous [States](/usc/10/4951.md?p=4).
