# §1432. Election of annuity: former members of armed forces


A [person](/usc/10/2700.md?p=2) who was a former member of an armed force on November 1, 1953, and who is granted retired or retainer [pay](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-15) after that date, may, at the time he is granted that [pay](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-15), make an election as provided in [section 1431 of this title](/usc/10/1431.md).
