# §12522. Establishment of insurance program

- (a) **Establishment.—** The [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) shall establish for members of the Ready [Reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) (including the Coast Guard [Reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6)) an [insurance program](/usc/10/12521.md?p=1) to be known as the “Ready [Reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) Mobilization Income [Insurance Program](/usc/10/12521.md?p=1)”.
- (b) **Administration.—** The [insurance program](/usc/10/12521.md?p=1) shall be administered by the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4). The [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) may prescribe in regulations such rules, procedures, and policies as the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) considers necessary or appropriate to carry out the [insurance program](/usc/10/12521.md?p=1).
- (c) **Agreement With Secretary of Homeland Security.—** The [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) and the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) of Homeland Security shall enter into an agreement with respect to the administration of the [insurance program](/usc/10/12521.md?p=1) for the Coast Guard [Reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6).
