# §10214. Adjutants general and assistant adjutants general: reference to other officers of National Guard


In any case in which, under the laws of a [State](/usc/10/18232.md?p=1), an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) of the [National Guard](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-1) of that jurisdiction, other than the adjutant general or an assistant adjutant general, normally performs the duties of that office, the references in sections [12004(b)(1)](/usc/10/12004.md?p=b-1), [12215](/usc/10/12215.md), [12642(c)](/usc/10/12642.md?p=c), [14507(b)](/usc/10/14507.md?p=b), [14508(h)](/usc/10/14508.md?p=h), and [14512](/usc/10/14512.md) of this title to the adjutant general or the assistant adjutant general shall be applied to that [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) instead of to the adjutant general or assistant adjutant general.
