# §10211. Policies and regulations: participation of Reserve officers in preparation and administration


Within such numbers and in such [grades](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-7) and assignments as the [Secretary concerned](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-9) may prescribe, each armed force shall have [officers](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) of its [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) components on [active duty](/usc/10/101.md?p=d-1) (other than for training) at the seat of government, and at headquarters responsible for [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) affairs, to participate in preparing and administering the policies and regulations affecting those [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) components. While so serving, such an [officer](/usc/10/101.md?p=b-1) is an additional number of any staff with which he is serving.
