# §10202. Regulations

- (a) Subject to standards, policies, and procedures prescribed by the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) of Defense, the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) of each military [department](/usc/10/12521.md?p=5) shall prescribe such regulations as the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) considers necessary to carry out provisions of law relating to the [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) components under the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4)’s jurisdiction.
- (b) The [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) of Homeland Security, with the concurrence of the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) of the Navy, shall prescribe such regulations as the [Secretary](/usc/10/12521.md?p=4) considers necessary to carry out all provisions of law relating to the [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) components insofar as they relate to the Coast Guard, except when the Coast Guard is operating as a service in the Navy.
- (c) So far as practicable, regulations for all [reserve](/usc/10/101.md?p=c-6) components shall be uniform.
