# §327.2. Procedure for naturalization.

- (a) **Application.** An applicant who is eligible for naturalization pursuant to section 327 of the Act and [§ 327.1](/cfr/8/327.1.md) shall submit an Application for Naturalization, Form N-400, in accordance with [§ 316.4](/cfr/8/316.4.md) of this chapter. Such application must be accompanied by a statement describing the applicant's eligibility under § [327.1 (a)](/cfr/8/327.1.md?p=a), [(b)](/cfr/8/327.1.md?p=b), and [(c)](/cfr/8/327.1.md?p=c) and any available documentation to establish those facts.
- (b) **Oath of Allegiance.** Upon naturalization of the applicant, the district director shall transmit a copy of the oath of allegiance taken by the applicant to the Department of State.
