# §996.15. Positive lot identification.


Positive lot identification is a means of identifying those peanuts meeting outgoing quality regulations as defined in [§ 996.31](/cfr/7/996.31.md) and relating the inspection certificate issued by the Inspection Service, as defined in [§ 996.10](/cfr/7/996.10.md), to the lot covered so that there is no doubt that the peanuts in the lot are the same peanuts described on the inspection certificate.
